ESSENTIAE was born in order to rediscover the ancient arts of Mediterranean liqueur making and produce elixirs and jams.

Absolutely natural, the products are made in traditional way without the use of preservatives, dyes and chemical additives.

For the infusion are used unprocessed seasonal fruits, organically grown and harvested the day before being infused.

The traditional process of the production process makes the elixirs unique, genuine and of high quality.

The beloved guests of WFTI will meet Emanuele De Gaetani and with him they will enter the spirit of these places by visiting the Castle and the Museum, then you will taste the spirits & liqueurs pairing fish lunch in the historic center.

Followed by a visit to the citrus groves and liqueur tasting mini-masterclass… plus an handcrafted final gift!

Nature, History, passionate craftsmen

Absolutely natural, the extracts are prepared by hand without the use of preservatives, dyes and chemical additives of any kind.

The exceptional organoleptic characteristics of our liqueurs, such as the strong and resistant perfume, the intense and unmistakable taste and the bright color are therefore due to the exclusive production process, manual and traditional, and above all to the use of highly selected fresh products.

For the infusion, untreated seasonal fruits are used, exclusively from Salento, organically grown and harvested when fully ripe in the Mediterranean sun the day before being put in the fusion.

The selection and peeling of citrus fruits is done manually.

The seasoning takes place in the dark and the filtering with a linen cloth by free fall.

This production process, so slow, traditional and manual, makes our elixirs simply unique, genuine and of high quality.

A day in the company as master distillers, in the midst of stories dating back thousands of years

  • Reception at the liquor factory and meeting with private Ambassador (English-speaking)
  • Welcome aperitif with sweet & savory buffet and cocktails with the use of our products (jams, marmalades & sweets)
  • Visit to the Ugento Castle and Museum with a private English-speaking guide
  • Lunch in a trendy restaurant in the historic center of Ugento
  • The Grand Fish & Spirits Lunch will be paired with Essentiae spirits and with Apulian wines from Wine Spectator Top 100 list.
  • Extensive visit with a reserved English-speaking guide to the very ancient Crypt of the Crucifix and walk in the ancient village and in the midst of our orchards from which we collect the various types of fruit for liqueurs, with a stop at the ancient cellar to be restored where it will be built in the coming years our Liquor Resort.
  • Return to the headquarters and presentation of the company and our traditional production methods
  • Tasting of liqueurs and distillates, in the form of a mini-masterclass of spirits tasting, with a visit to our shop for any purchases
  • Goodbye cocktail and complimentary souvenir delivery (pocket phial holder in hand-crafted leather, with three full phials)

The Grand Fish & Spirits Lunch

  • Starter: Lobster in its mayonnaise, celery, red onion, green apple & ginger
  • First courses: Pacchero “Gerardo di Nola”, small squid, cherry tomatoes and black chickpeas from Zollino – Potato buttons, goat ricotta cheese, lime, mint and black cabbage
  • Main course: Turbot, Beurre Blanc, borage and orange
  • Dessert: Short pastry, marzipan, vanilla cream, rosemary lemon curd, medlar.
