A day as PRO in one of the most modern and trendy cellars in Lazio, also visiting the Papal Palaces in the Castelli Romani
Ancient Rome brought the vine beyond the Alps.
The other side of the Alps treasured it and brought it back to us.
We have the task of exalting it and we have done it in the wines of Vinea Domini.
Today our goal is to enhance the native vines and Doc/Docg of Lazio, giving them the right recognition they deserve.
The first words spoken by Pope Benedict XVI immediately after his election were: “After the great Pope John Paul II the cardinals elected me, a simple and humble worker in the Lord’s vineyard”…
Words that deeply affected the managers of the Gotto d’Oro winery, cultivating in they the idea that the inspiring “Lord’s vineyard” could be their own vineyards, those of the Castelli Romani near Castel Gandolfo, summer residence much loved by Pope Benedict.
It is born here the name Vinea Domini for the new line of wines that had to represent the absolute excellence of Lazio.

Native & International
The volcanic nature of the land surrounding Rome magnificently enhance the varietal of our international vins: 3 whites Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Viognier, and 3 reds Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot, deliberately never in contact with the wood for an immediate and pleasant recognition of the grapes vinified alone.
In the same territory, native wines such as Malvasia Puntinata, Frascati, Cesanese have always been produced… in this case our vineyards are very old, of a traditional nature and therefore ensure perfect recognition and intensity to the Vinea Domini wines.

The Pontifical Palace in Castel Gandolfo
The Pontifical Palace has been transformed into a museum that preserves artifacts related to the history of the Vatican, such as the costumes and cars of the former popes.
Tourists have access to the marble-floored papal apartments, the papal portrait gallery, the summer office, and even the private bedroom.
Barberini Gardens (The Papal Gardens)
The masterfully maintained Papal Gardens are a sight to behold.
Whatever time of year you visit, you will be greeted by lush greenery all around.
You can relax in the shade of the Giardino Della Madonnina which was designed in 1933 at the behest of Pope Pius XI.
Don’t miss the historic sculptures as you enjoy the view of the Belvedere Garden.
The Papal Gardens are the perfect blend of natural beauty, landscape design and archaeological ruins.
