Antico Frantoio Muraglia was born 5 generations ago, but the patriarch olive tree of the family is over 460 years old.

What is certain is that here was born the story of an oil that today can be found in the gourmet corners of 40 countries, Harrods in London, la Rinascente in Milan, EATALY in New York City and L.A., and here they told us that ours is “the glamorous face of Apulian oil”.

We safeguard the biodiversity of the agricultural landscape, we harvest by hand, we cold-press in the ancient stone millstone.

From the meeting between Muraglia and a family of potters from Puglia for 5 generations, we go back millennia, to conserve oil in terracotta jars.

A happy revolution, a viral contagion of beauty and color, an exceptional combination of the craftsmanship of our oil millers and those ceramic artists.

100% Italian product: from the cultivation of the olive trees to the bottling, everything takes place in the Apulian territory and even the iconic jars of our company are entirely made by Apulian artisans.

We’ll welcome you to the ceramics atelier produced exclusively for the Frantoio Muraglia in the city of Terlizzi.

We’ll assist in all phases of the production cycle of our ceramic jars: from the creation of the product, to its painting and firing.

Our journey will continue in the city of Andria in one of our historic olive groves in Contrada Coppe.

During the walk in our farm, an expert guide will tell us about the history, the methods of cultivation and harvesting of the olives, to then conclude with a visit to a real pillar of the history of our family: the historic olive tree over 460 years old.

Leaving Contrada Coppe, we will open the doors of the Frantoio Muraglia to tell you our secrets and show you in detail, like true professionals, all the phases of the oil production process.

During the October-January period we’ll be able to smell the scents of the oil during the pressing of the olives in real time.

The oil mill is operational all year round and it is possible to see in action the team that takes care of checking the quality of the product every day, bottling it and shipping it all over the world.

MASTERCLASS – After the theory we move on to practice!

  • Together we will make a tasting journey of eight different oils: our Essenza line, passing through our Aromatics.
  • During the tasting, there will be a short lesson in approaching oil, in which you will learn to distinguish the various scents of the oils.
  • During the tasting of the oils we will learn to recognize the scents and to do so we will have ampoules with fresh ingredients, the same ones whose scents will be recognizable in our oils.
  • At the end you can choose your gift from several free gift boxes for you.
  • We will then leave the oil mill to turn towards one of the restaurants where we will offer interesting combinations of food and oil with the typical dishes of the area.

  • Oyster and gin-tonic short, warm bread with Muraglia celery oil
  • Steamed prawns, tomato gazpacho, drops of Peranzana Muraglia oil
  • Grilled octopus, Muraglia pitted Coratina oil, potato mousse and Amaretto di Saronno
  • Risotto with Muraglia ginger oil, Parmigiano Reggiano, pink prawn tartare, sea urchin pulp and black olive powder
  • Tortelli with liquid zabaglione, Muraglia smoke oil, spring onion and toasted almonds
  • Red snapper cooked at low temperature, artichoke, yellow datterino tomato and thyme
  • Seasonal fresh fruit sorbet
  • Fior di latte gelato with Muraglia basil oil, cocoa crumble and Muraglia basil oil
