Castle of Her Imperial Highness, Princess Isabella Collalto-de Croÿ

Prosecco Hills: an UNESCO World Heritage Site

PRIVATE LUNCH with EXCLUSIVE area at the Castle

A day in European HISTORY: Holy Roman Empire castle, Renaisssance palace, literally to the origins of the Etiquette…

Nowadays, in August 2022, the King of Belgium Philippe (grandson of the last Queen of Italy, Maria José) visited the cellars of Collalto, guest of Princess Isabella… exactly as you will do !!!

The Collalto family is of ancient Lombard origin, named Counts of Treviso (960 a.D.), in the 1300s they built the Castle of San Salvatore in Susegana.

It is here that in 1500 Monsignor Della Casa, a guest of the Collaltos, wrote his famous “Galateo” (“Etiquette”, the text that is still the basis of “good manners” today).

In 1741, Count Vinciguerra Collalto was the patron who bought his “Farewell Concerts” from Antonio Vivaldi (which will be the background live music for “012 Castello di Collalto Music”).

In 1762 at the age of 6, W. Amadeus Mozart held his first concert at Palazzo Collalto in Vienna.

Today Princess Isabella manage the historic winery, with 170 hrs of vineyards, 70 of which are Prosecco, she immerses herself in the world of wine, and brings to the world exceptional wines that have been awarded in all the most important competitions, never forgetting the deep bond with the territory that for millennia has been identified with the name of the Collalto.

The Fashionable INNOVATION:
VIOLETTE Rosé Extra-Dry Sparkling

  • Gilbert & Gaillard: 3 GOLD medals
  • Falstaff Sparkling Trophy: 88 pts.
  • The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships: GOLD
  • Mundus Vini: SILVER
  • Concours Mondial Bruxelles: GOLD

This rosé sparkling wine beguiles the taster first of all with its appearance, an utterly inimitable peony pink hue.

Then the eye is enchanted by a slender but dense bead of irrepressible pin-point bubbles that presage the wine’s appreciable crispness.

The nose is intensely redolent of delicate notes of rose petals, lime blossoms, and wild berry.

The Great HISTORY:
ISABELLA Rive di Collalto Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. Millesimato

  • Gilbert & Gaillard: GOLD medal
  • Falstaff Sparkling Trophy: 92 pts.

The grapes for our Rive Prosecco are painstaking selected from vineyards on a striking site on the Collalto hill, to the north of the San Salvatore Castle.

Here, more than a 1.000 years ago, Princess Isabella’s ancestors settled, building the first castle.

Its name, too, became theirs, and they later won the rank of Counts of Collalto.
